I Was There: The ViewSometimes bands only get one chance. For The View , it came in 2006. The band were picked to play the T Break Stage - an area for new talent at T In The Park, despite not having a record deal or any releases to their name. The slot went down in festival lore. Fans packed the tent, with The View's performance becoming one of the weekend's most discussed events. Hospitality Tackles Steely Dan’s Rikki Don’t ..We’re huge fans of A.V. Club’s Undercover series of videos in which they give participating bands a list of covers to choose one from and film the resulting version. We’ve probably posted most, if not all, of the inventive covers since the series started, but the latest installment kicks so much ass in our humble opinion that we didn’t want to wait until tomorrow to share. (We gave it an A- , and recommend it to you highly.) And not from partying, but from the combination of jetlag and filthy floors with the hardest of woods. Fortunately that’s been the worst of our troubles so far. Our flight over had us two to a row, which allowed for a three hour sleep after a viewing of ”Moneyball.” Cool movie. My roommate Bill could have done it too.
