No future no pastCloud Nothings - No Future / No Past from Urban Outfitters on Vimeo . Attack On Memory , il nuovo album di Cloud Nothings , mi è piaciuto abbastanza poco. Queste otto canzoni evitano sistematicamente tutto quello che avevo trovato divertente e esaltante (quella sintesi di rumore e allegra frenesia) del suo debutto di un annetto fa. In giro invece trova ampi consensi , e addirittura oggi David Greenwald, uno le cui opinioni di solito ascolto con attenzione, ha scritto che si tratta del "first Rock Album in years — since the last Spoon album, maybe? Late Night: Wu LyfManchester's WU LYF is one of the more overlooked bands of last year, and their debut Go Tell Fire To The Mountain, full of energetic, effervescent constructions. They made their television debut on Letterman last night, with a rendition of "Heavy Pop" that is as good of an intro to the quartet as you'll ever need. They're like the British Harlem Shakes! Instead, the band got passing reviews and imploded, leaving guitarist Todd Goldstein alone with his old solo project, ARMS . One EP and two rounds of CMJ/SXSW festival runs later, the band has emerged as a full-fledged four-piece with the self-released Summer Skills , an exuberant effort with masterful musicianship and clever, knotty lyrics. Now Playing: ArmsTodd Goldstein has had things shaking in the indie world for some time. The amicable Brooklynite spent years carving delicious hooks into the musical output of Harlem Shakes; a once beloved NYC outfit that sadly called it quits in 2009 (though their performance for our cameras lives on!).
