London's Victoria & Albert museum has rebuilt parts of the legendary club

The Hacienda Club, hub of the Madchester scene of the late 80s and early 90s, has been recreated in London's Victoria & Albert Museum. Original designer Ben Kelly has reconstructed the painted girders and neon sign of the Kim Philby Bar for an exhibition of British design at the V&A;, despite there being next to nothing left of the original fixtures and fittings, which were all sold off.The legendary venue – which closed down in 1997 after several brushes with the law  - is now an apartment block.
