Last week I told you about The Horrors, and this week I've got their sister band. I mean brother band. Literally. Their guitar player is the younger brother of Tom Cowan (bass)from The Horrors. And like The Horrors, The Vaccines was also formed in West London. But VERY recently formed, despite sounding like a fully developed band. Laneway Music Festival 2012: Top 5 Artists ..Australia’s Laneway Festival proves a remedy to those sick of the crowded, aggressive vibe which has crept into a lot of the countries’ major festivals. Created in 2004 and held in the slender back streets of Melbourne’s CBD, Laneway has spawned into a seven-city journey, stretching as far as Singapore. Scene Stealer: Little Shop of HorrorsOddly enough, I was inspired to write this scene stealer piece after my recent trip to the dentist. My visit was pretty routine and painless, nothing at all like Bill Murray’s dental visit in the musical, sci-if horror film Little Shop of Horrors. It was after my dentist mentioned that his previous patient prefers to have his dental work administered without freezing that I recalled the over-the-top dental scene in the film. For me, Steve Martin steals the show as Orin Scrivello, a leather-jacketed, Elvis impersonating, sadistic dentist and abusive boyfriend.
