  • Beyoncé – Countdown
It's becoming a bit of an annual tradition for me to post an NYE party track, something that'll get folks singing along and dancing as we count in the New Year. In 2009 it was Pitbull, in 2010 it was Gyptian, and this year...

  • K-Pop Superstars 2NE1 Take Over Times Square ..
"We were worrying," CL says. "What if a lot of fans won't show up?" Lee Chae-rin of Korean hip-pop girl crew 2NE1 shared an honest moment with SPIN just moments after the group stormed the stage at New York's Best Buy Theater early Monday night. Their brief headlining performance was their first on U.S. soil as well as part of MTV Iggy's Best New Band blowout, the finish line to an online contest in which they were top vote-getters. Much of that success came on the strength of the group's fervent (and extraordinarily web-savvy) fanbase ...

  • Reggae & Dancehall #1
The Month's Goings-On In Dancehall and Reggae... NEWS STEPHEN MARLEY has bigged up the UK in a new interview, describing the British as "rebels". Speaking from his 'Lion's Den' studio in Miami he said the UK played an important part in the history of reggae. "When reggae music was becoming known to the world in the seventies," he said, "some people were not used to certain features. But in the UK you had rebels and punks and you were more embracing." "You guys are rebels". MAVADO and Hip Hop act DRAKE have just announced a new collaboration! It ...

  • Major Lazer – Original Don Preview
Major Lazer have just released this stream of a new track Original Don through Hypetrak. This may be an indication of what’s to come on the next album. This release is definitely not on par with their last album in my opinion. Regardless, I expect good things to come from this duo of mega-producers. • Sean Paul: can I touch your new hair?
When Sean Paul played in Bristol back in August, support came from The Heatwave, D Double and Mz Bratt. The show was crazy! Who knew Sean Paul had so many female fans? We did, cos we see them going mad to his tunes week in week out. After the show, our intrepid bashment reporter Loukia C collared Sean in his dressing room (not like that!) and asked him a few things... Hi Sean, how are ya mate? Yeah man, I'm good. A bit sweaty! Well you did just come off stage so I hear ya. Did you enjoy the ...

  • Reggae Sumfest 2011
MAVADO gave everyone a true Star Boy experience at this year’s ‘greatest reggae show on earth’, and for some he gave even more than that, when he removed his bling and threw it into the crowd. NICKI MINAJ didn’t disappoint as day three headliner, though she did it in a surprising way, handing the stage to her dancers for a dancehall tribute. And MYA excelled, appearing twice on dancehall night and once on the Saturday night. Sadly R KELLY had to pull out as he was too unwell to travel but the gap was ably filled by BUNNY ...

The big dog Shaggy is in London this week to play Sunday's One Love Peace Festival at Wembley Arena alongside Sean Paul, Gyptian and Busta Rhymes. Loukia C caught up with him for a chat and to find out once and for all if it was him or not... How are you Shaggy? I'm nice. Bless up! We're looking forward to having you here in the UK, are you looking forward to performing? Absolutely! It's been about five years since I have been here and actually done a concert in the UK.
