Isle of Wight Festival unveil new additions ..Organisers of Isle of Wight Festival have today added indie veterans Ash, Dub-step princess Katy B and Enter Shikari, who’s latest album has been getting rave reviews from all directions. Also added are Pulled Apart by Horses, The Virginmarys and Christina Perri. These all join the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam and Biffy Clyro to the weekend of 22nd – 24th June billing. Jazz breaking news: Neneh Cherry Appears At ..In a rare appearance singer Neneh Cherr y joined Groove Armada in Ronnie Scott’s to raise money for the under threat Doncaster Youth Jazz Association whose future is now up in the air following grant funding cuts. Cherry began a short late-night set on Saturday by singing the song ‘Think Twice’ which she has previously collaborated on with Groove Armada, the downtempo band best known for huge hits ‘I See You Baby’ and ‘At The River’. Jazz breaking news: Groove Armada and Neneh ..The Doncaster jazz scene in South Yorkshire is facing a bleak future following huge funding cuts threatening the future of the local Doncaster Jazz Association . Many local scenes across the country, and particularly across Yorkshire, are also under pressure, following the slashing of the Arts Council grant to umbrella organisation Jazz Yorkshire. In Doncaster, the home town to such jazz luminaries as Dennis “Badbone” Rollins, educator John Ellis ’ Wednesday night jazz classroom teach-ins, which began in the 1970s, introduced jazz to a new generation of kids hungry to learn about the music.
