Kill Paris – Shades of FunkVisit Indie Shuffle to download. Sounds like: Big Gigantic, Madeon, Gramatik Song: Kill Paris - Shades of Funk [download here ] What's so good? There’s a lot being sampled in this track by Kill Paris: Breakbot’s “Shades of Black,” Luke Bond’s “The Other Side” and Phil Collins’ “In The Air Tonight.” Not entirely sure I can pick out the last piece, but it sounds a bit like Kill Paris is channeling Madeon. Comparisons aside, “Shades of Funk” represents something pretty promising as far as emerging talent in the producer space. We haven’t heard much from Kill Paris ...indie shuffle17 May 2012

Quite often, there are mashups that go together so well, you wonder why the hell no one had thought of it before. Gramatik’s remix of “Stairway to Heaven” was an awesome enough rendition by itself, but by dropping 2pac’s “I Wonder If Heaven Got A Ghetto” on top of it, DJ Fusion has created a pretty memorable track. Counter.Point: Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Sk ..Following up on a recent story , promoters C3 Presents (Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits) and MCP Presents (Camp Bisco) unveiled the lineup for the first annual Counter.Point festival this morning and it brings together a bunch of the biggest electronica acts such as Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Skrillex and Avicii for a two-day event outside of Atlanta. Counter.Point will take place on September 28 and 29 at the site of the Echo Project festival, on the banks of the Chatahoochee River.
