Manchester Orchestra To Headline "The Stuffi ..Favorite Gentlemen Recordings have announced details of its 1st annual "The Stuffing" festival which will take place on November 24th at the CW Midtown Complex in Atlanta, Georgia. All three venues, which includes Center Stage, Vinyl, and The Loft, will host 10 artists from the Favorite Gentlemen Community of bands and friends during the evening. Bad Books Announce Self-Titled AlbumManchester Orchestra and Kevin Devine's Bad Books project will release their self-titled debut album on October 19th via Favorite Gentlemen Recordings. A new song called 'You Wouldn't Have To Ask' can be heard here . The Gasoline That I've Been Drinkin' Like It ..He's quite a talented young guy, this Robert McDowell. He has been the lead guitarist for the band Manchester Orchestra since 2005, and this year released his solo project called Gobotron. I remember when the kid started his own MySpace page with this same name in '08, and I wondered for a little while. But he didn't tell anyone about it until he finished the album. Best New Releases of the Week: Bear Hands, L ..This week's new releases include the fresh songs, as well as some tracks that have already made the rounds and are now being repackaged and re-issued in various forms. For example, Brooklyn's popular, but still unsigned, band Bear Hands, have re-issued their single, "What a Drag," today on white vinyl, and will celebrate this evening at The Studio at Webster Hall in New York, a kick-off show for an extensive tour of the U.S. with We Were Promised Jetpacks and Passion Pit. Ten Tracks You Need #56 Monday EditionHappy Monday folks. While normally Mondays are pretty sucky, starting it off with Ten Tracks You Need should help soften the blow. Two TTYN's in three days...you can't beat that. This would have been up yesterday but due to sports overload it just didn't happen. Despite not having American football to watch, there's been alot of sports on TV. The Olympics, NBA Allstar Game, Premier League, and The Daytona 500 all were this weekend. Wow. Big music review/ mp3 site Pop Tarts Suck Toasted was unceremoniously ousted off Blogger yesterday for reasons not completely clear yet but is now back up and running . I Rock Cleveland posted on a Blogger forum that all of their music was licensed. I was thinking of doing an MP3 post today, Blogger be damned! (Okay, I already downloaded an XML backup file....) From the mailbox...Not going to waste much time on typing words today. Instead it's my intention to share the best stuff found in the mailbox (and some of it is indeed really great), so be prepared for music galore! However I cannot help adding that (as always) I'm amazed by the number of truly horrible songs and acts being promoted, making it quite a rollercoaster ride checking mails.
