Glasser

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Glasser is Cameron Mesirow, a Los Angeles True Panther associate and Tanlines collaborator. We first heard about Cameron Mesirow’s Rising Glasser project via the sharp and mysterious electro-pop song Glad, which also got a Delorean remix. Now we expect a new 12” out in March 2010. Read More

  • Week 60: Glasser (Ring)
New Music Tuesday everyone! Usually I don’t take the time to share all that’s getting released (other websites do that for me!) but today I’ll take a moment and share that Kimbra’s Vows has officially arrived in the U.S. along with a lot of bonus tracks that I have yet to listen to. This girl is going to “go Adele” on the indie music world! But enough free advertisement…we got a band to talk about!  There simply aren’t enough solo female electronic artists out there who can put their own stuff together. Yeah ...

Visit Indie Shuffle to download. Sounds like: Glasser, Lykke Li, Blouse, Frankie Rose Song: Grimes - Be a Body [download here ] What's so good? This Montreal native has been spreading her love all across the blogosphere since early 2012 with her recent album, Visions . Her hypnotic sounds permeate through the cracks of dense taciturnity, creating a dark and chilly atmospheric horizon that is electrified with delusion and fantasy. The transfixing and irresistible “Be a Body” from the aforementioned is one song that compels you with its haunting yells and delirious drones. It basically takes you on a fantastical cerebral journey ...

  • Music: Music Review: Tanlines: Mixed Emotion ..
Brooklyn’s Tanlines began as a remix project between two sidemen turned producers, Don Caballero ’s Eric Emm and Professor Murder ’s Jesse Cohen. They earned acclaim for housing up tropical-tinged art-pop acts like Glasser and El Guincho , but it wasn’t until Emm started singing that the “next big thing” talk began. On the group’s 2010 breakout “Real Life”—which serves as centerpiece and spirit animal for Mixed Emotions —he gets his Peter Gabriel on, cooing over hand-smacked percussion and big pulsing synths, “For a minute I was lost / I was looking for a home.” Tanlines’ debut LP ...

  • St. Jerome's Laneway Festival - Adelaide
In the few short months I've spent so far in Adelaide, I've met some cool folks, found a local pub and record shop , and taken in a lot of the local music scene. So far, so good. One thing that's sorely lacking though, coming from one who was once so spoiled with the miscellany of gigs and touring acts in lovely Vancouver, Canada, is international bands jaunting around these fair shores.  Adelaide is the fifth largest city in Australia and as such is the fifth in choice for bands touching down in the good old Australian outback ...

We couldn’t put off gushing about how amazing all of you are . Our readers are of course a huge + vital part of what we do here @ Blue Sky. Honestly it’s the part that makes our hearts smile and leaves us at a loss for words. Posting to a blogging community can be rough if you have no social action - no likes, no comments, no shares. Sometimes we think this guy was sent from “music-blogging heaven” to make sure we never feel that kind of let down. Popping up multiple times a day to grant us the security and ...

His forthcoming full-length debut, All Hell , sounds like everybody and nobody on the jukebox all at once. File Next To: Lee Hazelwood, Magnetic Fields, Nicholas Jaar Where to Start ...

Download link is in the original post Sounds like: Glasser, Lindstrom, Low Roar Song: Summer Camp - Losing My Mind (St. Etienne Remix) [download here ] What's so good? It’s interesting. Uber pop English group St. Etienne remixed another English indie pop group, Summer Camp, resulting in a grandiosely cheerless track. Not exactly what one would expect from pop band vs pop band, but who really cares since the resulting composition is so beautifully executed? “Losing My Mind” starts off with some amazingly stellar whistling, giving way to Elizabeth Sankey’s cautious, dark vocals. The lyrics are cynically morose, stating ...
