Polica - Give You The GhostPoliça is the first project to emerge from the Gayngs stable and, rather unsurprisingly, doesn’t disappoint. Ryan Olsen delivers a lesson in production by hammering out synth driven layers, held together by the completely diametrically opposed Channy Leanagh - who imparts an altered vocal so soft and somehow natural that you wonder how the effect can be this integrated. Poliça - Give You The GhostThe backstory to Poliça is more than enough to make them an intriguing proposition. The story begins when Ryan Olsen began indie super collective Gayngs. The multitude of collaborators he brought together to create that soft rock-inspired sound on debut Relayted included Justin Vernon. Also on this mega-roster was Channy Leaneagh. Her talents shone so much that Olsen asked her to create something new, an entirely new force (Poliça force, yeah? No? Sorry), with Cassell taking charge of the vocals and Olsen on production. Bon Iver Makes Album With Rapper Astronautal ..Over the last two days, the music blogging world has been buzzing more than an angry's hornet nest at the news that Justin Vernon will be making an LP with Minneapolis hip-hop performer Astronautalis. Justin Vernon to collaborate with Astronauti ..Fans familiar with Justin Vernon’s past work with Kanye West may not be too surprised with the news that the Bon Iver frontman is working with Minneapolis-area rapper Astronautilis on new material The “impressionist, free-form” project, which Astronautilis describes the collaboration as in an interview with the City Pages' Gimme Noise blog , will also feature Bon Iver alum and solo artist S. Carey and Gayngs member Ryan Olsen, who apparently started the project.
