  • First Aid Kit - When I Grow Up (LED Remix) [ ..
This is amazing - an electro remix of First Aid Kit 's acoustic cover of Fever Ray 's electro original When I Grow Up . It all comes full circle, given the fact that the sisters are on the label Karin Dreijer Andersson owns - Rabid Records. We literally stumbled across this, and it was meant to be we're sure as it's been on repeat since then. We love Klara and Johanna's voices and L.E.D's remix takes them into a whole new magical realm. Enjoy! Folkstep all the way baby!                           Tweet

  • Video: Feist – The Bad In Each Other
Martin de Thurah, the auteur behind a number of amazing videos like Fever Ray’s “When I Grow Up” and James Blake’s “Limit To Your Love” directs this ravishing, cinematic video for “The Bad In Each Me”, the best track on the Feist’s Metals. The song’s lyrics talk about human connection, good and bad, and de Thurah matches [...]

  • Tony Gallardo II - Líder Juvenil
Líder Juvenil, Tony Gallardo II Bad Pop, México Rating: 81 by Enrique Coyotzi After the shutdown of Megaupload, a general discontent was manifested, principally on social networks. However, I remember reading opinions that expressed how this platform had been “ruining music” since its creation in 2005. Yes, we know there are thousands of disposable acts on the Internet, but the fact that an artist gives away their music shouldn’t be directly related with artistic quality or creativity level. This is where Antonio Jiménez Gallardo comes in, a guy who since his Unsexy Nerd Ponies days has offered for free ...

  • Niki & The Dove - The Drummer
"It is what makes me human" I haven't gotten a chance to throw my two cents in about Sweden's Niki & The Dove yet. They're one of the BBC's Sounds of 2012 selections, which usually means very little to me (their choices tend to be on the more boring and overpraised side). But Niki & The Dove are very interesting. Like fellow Swedes The Knife, their music fuses electronic elements with alien-like, challenging pop soundscapes. They're a little more mainstream than the Knife or Fever Ray, but still delightfully weird. While I think their excellent single DJ ...

  • Track Of The Day: Charli XCX - Nuclear Seaso ..
Today's Track Of The Day isn't brand-spankin' new—it came out back at the end of November—but, given the tendency of end-of-year records to get lost in the shuffle, I thought it was worth giving a little extra attention to. Charli XCX is a young British singer on the rise; MTV has singled her out as one of 10 nominees in their Brand New For 2012 campaign, and it's hard not to imagine that this could well be her year. She worked with producer Ariel Rechtshaid (a collaborator of Glasser and Diplo) on her debut single ...

  • Lana Del Rey - Born To Die (pdp/13 Remix) ..
Damon Albarn twists Lana Del Rey 's already brooding Born To Die into an electronical dark forest filled with noises and shrieks - complete with a flatline. It reminds us of Fever Ray. A must listen!                       Tweet

  • Album Review: First Aid Kit - The Lion's Roa ..
As befits the world’s third largest exporters of music, Swedes seem capable of turning their pale hands to every musical subgenre. They nailed down beardy sing and dancealong pop over 30 years ago and have since given us electro-spook with The Knife and Fever Ray; rawk revivals with Soundtrack...

  • Austra: Spellwork
There's been no shortage of moody electro-pop fronted by women with a distinctive vocal presence in the past couple of years. One of the best examples in 2011 was Toronto's Austra and their album Feel It Break . Their chiming, chugging pop miniatures were clearly made under the influence of Fever Ray , and you can hear echoes of touchstones like Kate Bush along with contemporary outliers like Wildbirds and Peacedrums; nevertheless, Austra do a convincing job of creating their own world and drawing you deep inside, even if the scenery looks familiar. For listeners of a clubbier predilection, Sparkle ...
