I am a shallow music listener because usually I don't take the time to find out anything about the band I am listening to. I figure, they sound good, why bother finding out anything about them? Unless of course they are really, really good. (Did you know that Little Birdy was named after a Ween song?) The Vessels made me endeavour to discover something interesting as their music was so interesting, and this would also allow me to tack something onto the end of my recommendation. “Have you heard the Vessels ? Oh! You should they are good and *INSERT ...

This is an ever changing and (hopefully) expanding list of some of the songs I have mentioned before in this blog or simply stuff I have found somewhere on the web that I find interesting, but have no time to write about. All files have been found somewhere in cyberspace (and NONE of them have uploaded by me, so I cannot help you with any requests you might have - just keep returning and something new might pop up), so they will be available until the artists, record labels, fans, whatever decide to remove them. Thanks to a few readers, I ...
" System D-128 took Mexicans with Guns ‘ name literally and made a short film exploring aspects of cholo culture. A dude gets murked in the first 20 seconds. There is boning, religion, brujería and some kind of ninja chick modeled after La Virgen, all inspired by the fact that “ Dame Lo ” is sexy and bangs like a ‘72 Monte Carlo jumping a curb." - FADER Mexicans with Guns is the production moniker/character created by Exponential Records honcho Ernest Gonzales . After prepping his Been Meaning To Tell You LP for the Friends of Friends label, EG was in search of a new ...
Edmonton, Canada [ 2000 – present ] Embracing a moody, introspective pop sound that’s smart, tuneful, forceful, and sweetly melancholy all at once, Faunts were formed in 2000 by Tim Batke and his brother Steven Batke, who hail from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. With Tim handling guitar, keyboards, and vocals while Steven contributed vocals and guitar, [...]
Dawning the mexican wrestling mask in February 2009, MwG began tearing down the streets with big bass and a nasty swag, breaking out remixes for the likes of Bassnectar, Rainbow Arabia, CYNE, Faunts, Yppah, and shared the stage with the likes of Peanut Butter Wolf, Daedelus, Ghosts on Tape,...

Earlier this week, we published the first installment of what were ours, and by measurement, your, favorite 2009 songs. The decision was made not to make a 2009 "best of" list because it's presumptuous, and depends on the definition of what qualifies as "best." Sales? Social media mentions? MySpace page views? Late night talk show appearances? Google searches? All that and more? It's simply too complicated to pick "best" songs, and much easier to pick favorites. So, this series of playlists in coming weeks will feature favorite songs we posted throughout 2009, by the month they were originally ...
A rich heaping pile of offensive fun that overloads the ears with melodies pertaining to the subjects of anything from drugs, booze and women, to rocking it louder than any other band out there.
