  • PropertyOfZack Review : : The Forecast
Peoria, Illinois’ The Forecast have spent the last decade churning out plainspoken midwestern emo and country-tinged rock to relatively little fanfare.  Perhaps that lack of recognition is unsurprising for there is nothing flashy to what they do: no costumes or theatrics (visual or musical), no overt artsy-ness, no craven catering to either the over or underground.  The Forecast specialize in honest, hardworking nose-to-the-grindstone Rock and Roll — and they do it very, very well. • PropertyOfZack Review : : William Beckett ..
William Beckett was the frontman and primary songwriter for emo-pop mainstays The Academy Is…, but as that beast melted down slowly over the last two years, bested by the crucible of label demands and outside pressures that only increased as popular tastes (and radio programmers) drifted away from rock music, it often appeared as though Beckett had lost control of his creation, and maybe lost his mojo in the process. So while news that Beckett was putting TAI to rest and moving forward without a label may have been met with consternation from his fans, there was also reason to ...

  • Thursday Discussion: That Band Shouldabeenhu ..
Our friends over at AbsolutePunk posted a great Thursday Discussion today titled That Band Shouldabeenhuge! As you can guess, the discussion focusses on some of your favorite bands, that regardless of their small-scale success, never blew up in the way you quite imagined they would. Whether it be Midtown, The Starting Line, or even All Time Low (in a sense), the band’s we often think will hit the success of blink-182 or Fall Out Boy just don’t.
