It features the most unlikely blending of musical genres I’ve come across in a while, and even more curiously it somehow gets all its conflicting elements to work. If you took a bit of Enter Shikari, a bit of A Day To Remember, sprinkles of various post-hardcore types and mashed them up in a synth kaleidoscope this might be the result. Young Guns – Bones There still seems to be place free at the top of the pedestal for British alternative rock/punk, it appears that no one ever manages to hold that number one spot down. However this isn't to do with live shows (because it's not often you get a bad show from any British punk rock band), it's more to do with album consistency and following up with a solid second album after an impressive first. Enter Shikari // A Flash Flood of Colour // ..We’ve had a couple of reviews on Never Enough Notes recently covering the St. Albans quartet Enter Shikari, most of them concluding that the new singles ‘Arguing with Thermometers’ and ‘Ghandi Mate, Ghandi’ were not like their first album offering Take to the Skies. They were right, and maybe if you prefer their first album, this latest offering may disappoint. Personally, I find these singles, as well as the rest of the new album A Flash Flood of Colour, so much better than Take to the Skies. This isn’t a ‘Common Dreads’ mark two either.
