News | Tallest Man on Earth unveils new song ..The Tallest Man on Earth (also known as Kristian Mattson) has recently unveiled the first song from his forth coming album “Theres No Leaving Now”. The song, ’1904′, premiered for the first time just yesterday, and is available for streaming on both YouTube and Soundcloud. It is a song filled with acoustic guitar strumming, exquisetely combined with a bow and string instrument to create yet another masterpiece. Mattson sings that something: “shook the Earth in 1904″, and the ambiguity in his lyrics makes this all the more intriguing. Track of the Day: Tallest Man on Earth - "19 ..Our first taste from Tallest Man on Earth's new LP There's No Leaving Now (out June 12 via Dead Oceans ) is "1904" an understated ethereal track about rumblings underground. Kristian Matsson's work has been some of the strongest of the past few years. If his guitar strikes aren't as loud as before, his demeanor a bit laid back, this hornish croon a bit tempered on this track, you'll have to stop and ponder the lyrics which recall the moment of serenity and possibility after everything's been destroyed.We Listen For You17 May 2012

In an interview with Rolling Stone , Kristian Matsson said “I wanted to build something that didn’t sound like a rock band, but wasn’t super minimalistic. I wanted a sound that had that brittle [quality], that feeling that it might just fall apart.” He achieves that brittleness very nicely here. There’s No Leaving Now is out June 12 on Dead Oceans. Some might say that the acoustic singer-songwriter style has been done to death, but Matsson has been living proof that they are wrong since his first self-titled album. Every beautiful song he writes he weaves evocative lyrics together with beautiful guitar playing all while sounding a lot like Bob Dylan and entirely himself all at once. He's an enigma for sure. The Tallest Man on Earth finally returns wit ..The Tallest Man on Earth finally returns with a magnificent and death questioning new single entitled, “1904”. The Swedish Bob Dylan, sounds more melodic than ever on here, and appears to have turned down his squealing just a tiny bit. This might be favorite song of his since “King of Spain”. I’m just hoping this can have similar success to another early 1900’s track that appeared a few years a go from some French band.
