Blur Recording Sessions HaltedProducer William Orbit has revealed that Blur recently went back into the studio, but swiftly halted recording sessions. It's a tough being a fan of Blur. The legendary Britpop act reformed for a number of beautiful, epic shows in the summer of 2009 leading some to speculate that a full reformation could be in the offing. However three years on, this has still to materialise. Set to play a handful of shows this summer - including an Olympic-related Hyde Park concert - Blur have been dogged by rumours of a new album. Damon pulls the pinDamon Albarn has apparently called time on new Blur material. According to producer William Orbit, the band were in the midst of recording when Albarn pulled the plug mid-session. Orbit told NME:"The new stuff sounded amazing. Then it all stopped suddenly. It was all over with Damon, and the rest of the band were like, 'Is this it?'". Back in March, Orbit tweeted a reply to a question regarding Blur, with the following 140 characters or less: "Damon, brilliant and talented tho he is, is kinda a **** to the rest of Blur." Ke$ha samples BlurBlur fans should cover their eyes and ears now as it would appear that sassy American Ke$ha has sampled the legendary bands hit 'Song 2'. "Just did a song with Beth of Portishead and Damon Albarn!", Jarel tweeted this weekend, as Consequence of Sound points out .
