Live Review: The Flower Drums + Wolves At Th ..Saturday night saw The Bird play host to selection of Perth’s finest, as The Flower Drums set about launching their debut single "Outside the Province" in front of a capacity crowd. The gents from Fat Shans warmed the early attendees up with a fairly varied mix of tunes, opening with The Beatles’ "Come Together" and chucking in a smattering of Little River Band, Simon and Garfunkel and Led Zeppelin along the way. Live Review: Soundwave Festival - Bonython P ..With Clipsal and the Adelaide Fringe taking place in the city throughout this weekend, Adelaide was simply overrun and buzzing with activity. If you were driving up Port Road today, I’m not envious, as thousands of rock fans made the pilgrimage-like journey to Bonython Park, ignoring road rules in the process. Live Review: Bush + Staind - The Palace Thea ..I’m going to preface this review with a disclaimer regarding my own personal ambivalence toward the metal genre - I do not understand metal/hardcore music, I don’t emotionally engage with it and nor can I distinguish one artist from the next, as such Staind 's set (pictured above) didn’t do much for me. This said, Aaron Lewis’ vocals were impressive and technically the band are tight. Their sound was massive and seemed to delight the fans in the audience who were happily singing along with the band as they confidently strutted their stuff onstage. Live Review: Soundwave Festival - RNA Showgr ..The best laid plans of mice, men, and now apparently music reviewers often go awry. Although I had planned to catch Pennsylvanian rockers CKY and French metal act Gojira , traffic snarls and the sheer crowd size of Soundwave 2012 prevent me from doing so. New PNAU Now Plus Spank RockYes, 'now' really was back in July, but since I haven't been paying attention to one of my favorite artists lately, they slipped right past the lighthouse. These guys are always a hoot and this album is full of happiness.
