I am overly excited to help announce the first ever PORTALS SXSW Showcase! That’s right, the crew is headed to Austin next month to be a part of the action and help throw a killer party! SXSW is a dream week for music fans as thousands of bands and music fans invade Austin, Texas.  This will be my fourth year attending the festival and something I noticed two years ago is that a lot of the showcases are exactly the same.  Last year we put on a an acoustic show by the lake, early in the morning, that featured Mother Mother, Ben Sollee, Joey from The Henry Clay People, Candy Claws, and Lohio.  We had complications locking down an actual location to send out and its attendance was pretty low.  The people who took the chance ...

The last we heard of Candy Claws they were covering Ace Of Base. Now the Colorado dream-pop outfit are back with another cover, this time of 'Do You Ever Feel That Way?' from Californian alt-rockers Starflyer 59's 1995 album Gold. It's reliably unhinged.

On January 10, Flannelgraph Records will release a 10" split single featuring covers of defunct alternative rockers Starflyer 59 from Colorado dream-pop team Candy Claws and soft-focus indie project Mike Adams at His Honest Weight.
