Week 55: Chill Bump (Back To The Grain - EP) ..Rap music is best when it completely defies your expectations in my opinion. The best part of hearing a new hip-hop or rap song is when they do something lyrically or soundwise that is so amazing that all you can say is “Awwwwww shhhhhiiiiiittttt!” (we’re all grown-ups here, right? haha) I’ve always had a hard time getting into rap music for a couple of reasons: (1) there is so much of it out there with mixtapes, EPs, and albums constantly being released and (2) the terrible stuff overshadows all the great stuff. I said “Seattle duo” as in a rapper & producer who hail from the same place as Microsoft & Boeing.
