TOBACCO + Air “Sing Sang Sung...TOBACCO + Air “Sing Sang Sung (Remix)” Unsurprisingly, TOBACCO and the rest of Black Moth Super Rainbow blew my mind at their show in San Francisco a few weeks ago. It was a smorgasbord (what a funny word) of aural wonder, splattered with hints of hip hop, rock and psychedelia. I once read that BMSR’s music was “t he missing link between Daft Punk’s cosmic kitsch and the wistful bliss of ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’”, and I couldn’t agree more. The rumour has it that The XX...…is on their way back on track. Bliss! Since their self-titled debut album ‘The XX’ in 2009, the band somewhat more or less separated. Or something like that. Call it family councelling? Since then, Jamie Smith - more known as Jamie XX - has become one of the most sought after producers and beat makers within the more minimalistic field of the music world.
