You may find yourself asking after 2 months of solid discos at our new home, why we would choose to throw in such a big fucking party? The answer: because we can. • The 405 Record Club: Edition #1
Welcome to the first edition of The 405 Record Club ! No, we haven't started some sort of mail-order record shop, though that would be pretty sweet, right? No? Ok. Basically 'The 405 Record Club' is about analysing an album over a two-week period, then discussing it with the other members of the group. Essentially it's a book club for music, minus the cheese and wine (though that's not a rule set in stone). If you fancy joining the club, please email hello@thefourohfive.com with '405 Record Club' in the title. Name: Daniel Johnston Album: 'Continued Story ...

  • Feature: New Noise: Dave Graney, Joe McKee, ..
A somewhat blokey edition of New Noise, featuring Dave Graney, ex-Snowman member Joe McKee, Brisbane slackers Dune Rats and the folky alter-egos of Gerling’s Darren Cross. – King of pop or king of puns? Dave Graney returns with a new single called ‘Flash in the Pantz’, a “big beat song” about being a man with muscular riffs and a title inspired by a malapropism on the wireless. “I heard a woman caller on sports radio dismiss a player as a “flash in the pantz” and took off from there,” he says. “Like a lot of my songs it starts from ...

Visit Indie Shuffle to download. Sounds like: Wavves, The Drums, DZ Deathrays, Best Coast Song: Bleeding Knees Club - Nothing To Do [download here ] What's so good? Bleeding Knees Club just want to have fun. They’re a couple of surfie punk kids from Australia’s Gold Coast that started jamming in a garage together, and recently turned out album Nothing To Do — an ode to sun, girls, and generally just being irresponsible. Let’s be honest. Bleeding Knees Club isn’t the next intellectual math-rock band. There’s nothing complicated or showy about their music, but that works in ...
