Listen: Jam City - 'Classical Genesis' Mix ..Jam City has unveiled his new 'Classical Genesis' mix ahead of his upcoming debut album. A lunchpin of the Night Slugs team, Jam City's music seems to express quite clearly the label's outlook. Chatting with Clash recently, the producer came closer than ever to providing a neat, coherent, definition: “For a couple of years now I (along with the rest of Night Slugs) have been trying to prove that House is Grime, Grime is Techno, Techno is Synth-Pop, Synth-Pop is Hip-Hop etc etc etc and will keep on doing that until people get it." Black Dice - Mr ImpossibleEvery so often I wonder if some experimental albums are made specifically with the intentions of messing with reviewers. A band sends us something that sounds crazy, we are baffled but described it as 'brave' and 'treading new ground'. As the review is released the band pulls back the curtain, screams "that it was all a joke" and the reviewer is left, embarrassed, in his pants. Black Dice 's newest effort, Mr Impossible , is one of these albums. It is seemingly both 'brave' and 'treading new ground' but ultimately is just a little too insane to ever quite take seriously ...The 40510 May 2012
