Baths

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

For mercurial Los Angeles music-maker Will Wiesenfeld, Baths has been a long time coming. Wiesenfeld has gainfully explored the intersections and outer reaches of both electronic and acoustic music. With Baths, his eclecticism finds its greatest focus yet, in a hail of lush melodies,... Read More

  • New Music Video: Royal Baths
Royal Baths slinking and sinister single "Faster, Harder" starts out slow, and by the title you may be able to guess where it goes from there. The video looks like its right out of the 60s Velvet Underground scene from which the San Francisco band derives a lot of its musical influence. The new music video for the song is a cautionary tale: It's usually not a very good sign for your relationship if your significant other is toying with a switchblade, and if you're not careful with that you can

  • ROYAL BATHS Release "Faster, Harder" Music V ..
Jeremy Cox and Jigmae Baer started Royal Baths without a plan in mind but soon the foundation for their writing found inspiration from Cox's interest in the alternate and open tunings of delta blues, their shared fascination in the African rhythm of early Chicago blues, and Baer lyrically attempting to reflect with black humor and little judgment, and the thrills and troubles they stumble through.

  • Royal Baths – Faster, Harder
Great. Brooklyn’s Royal Baths put all my fucked up relationships into one wicked video and I love it. Watch “Faster, Harder” starring super damaged girl Lesley Hann (from Friends) and enter her wicked world. This dark confession of love is taken from Royal Baths’ second full-length Better Luck Next Life, now out on Kanine Records. You can listen to [...]

  • ROYAL BATHS | Faster, Harder (Video)
Royal Baths (aka Jeremy Cox and Jigmae Baer ) posted a new video for the 70s guitar-psychedelic track “Faster, Harder”, a sexy song about a toxic but oh-so-good relationship centered around the chorus: “I love my damaged girl / We share a wicked world.” You know the kind they’re talking about, right? The kind where [...]

Royal Baths’ single “Faster, Harder” is an ode to a fucked up relationship: “I love my damaged girl / We share a wicked world,” repeats the singer as the song churns along, following the female protagonist into darker and darker places. By the end, the singer has fully succumbed to this wicked world, giving up [...]

  • Strangely Transfixed By Royal Baths (Updated ..
I'm still not wholeheartedly convinced that I like Royal Baths . I mean, the Brooklyn-via-San Francisco band tick the right boxes - dark, brooding, garage based tendencies, drone tinged rock, a love of Spacemen 3... Yet I can't quite get them. Whether it's because I think/thought they're style over substance, or that they are/were a little over-hyped, I'm not sure. I wasn't enamoured with their debut Litanies (on Woodsist ), but I listened to it quite a bit anyway. Weird. I'm equally flummoxed by how much I'm enjoying them right now. I find ...

This Monday I took to DIY Radio  to play 30 of my favourite mp3 finds from the past two weeks. These are often the tracks I don’t have time to share with you all on the blog - either that, or they’re a little too big to count as ‘new music’ when it comes to MFM’s strict, ridiculous standards.  Here’s the tracklist: Summerays - Toyohashi Sleigh Bells - Comeback Kid Royal Baths - Faster, Harder Swiss alps - Little Dipper Parakeet - Tomorrow Decks - Ghost Girl Lower Dens - Brains Galapagos - I Am My Love Pictureplane - Real Is A Feeling (Grimes Remix) Lapalux ...
