  • Dead Fame - "Frontiers" CD EP Review / Shows ..
Richmond post-punk band Dead Fame released their debut EP “Frontiers” early this year which shows the band’s sound firmly rooted in the darkly melodic melancholia of bands like Joy Division and The Chameleons. Dead Fame started in 2009 when synthesizer player Christopher DeNitto reunited with former band mate, guitarist KC Byrnes and duo slowly found additional players to give the group a “live band” sound. The group is fleshed out by bassist Sadie Powers, drummer Eric Klemen and singer/lyricist Michael Means. Given that Dead Fame is Eric and Michael’s first band, the group’s debut EP is ...

  • Dead Leaf Echo: Verisimilitude
NYC trio Dead Leaf Echo have released a new remix EP. Verisimilitude explores the back alleys of left-field dreamy post-rock. They went back to the tracks of their Truth EP and invited a couple of reputable remixers to work their magic. The result is a varied collection of revamped tracks sharing a late-night club vibe. Most remix albums are throwaways and serve as a stop-gap releases. Verisimilitude has legs and can walk upon its own feet. Dead Leaf Echo : LG: vocals: guitars, keys Mike DiLalla: bass Liza B.: keys, vocals Verisimilitude is a self-released album. Buy the CD (hand-Numbered/100 ...

Of course, those badges often do no good anyway when shows are "badged-out" (a version of sold out that means a CMJ badge will no longer get you into a show). We only hope that sort of good fortune for Math the Band , who play at Cake Shop tonight ...
