More seriously, large swathes of indie records were destroyed as criminals used the riots as cover for a raid on Sony's distribution centre. Not everyone was supportive about the attempts to help out stricken labels , though. Thank God, though, that Joe McElderry was safe . For some reason, the National Trust released a punk album. Album Review: Gallows - Death Is Birth EP ..Gallows return to the fold with a new EP, a new frontman in Wade MacNeil (formerly of Alexisonfire) and a return to their sometime residence at Thirty Days Of Night Records. The EP itself is four tracks of punk-infused hardcore that clocks in at just over seven minutes in total. It is hard to make a full judgement on the band’s new sound, but the difference in vocals and general swagger will undoubtedly be the main talking point of this release. ‘Mondo Chaos’ is a fantastic opening gambit by the band. REVIEW: Gallows – Death Is Birth EPArtist: Gallows Album: Death Is Birth Genre: Punk Earlier this year Frank Carter stunned fans by announcing he was leaving London Hardcore Punk mob, Gallows. Carter stated that the band were in a creative crossroads, and his ideas differed from the others. Shortly after Carter’s announcement, acclaimed Canadian post-hardcore group Alexisonfire disbanded with vocalist George Pettit stating two members had departed, and had ultimately led to the band splitting up. Wade MacNeil was one of those two members (City & Colour’s Dallas Green being the other,) and within days he was announced as Carter’s replacement in Gallows.
