The Scottish album of the Year award announc ..The shortlist for the first ever Scottish Album of the Year award has unveiled. The shortlist was put together by The Scottish music Industry Association to showcase the amount of great quality music the country has to offer. The panel of Judges selected 9 from a list of 20 albums while the final 10th was selected by a public vote. The shortlist of the ten albums that'll be in the running for the prize has been announced today, so now is as good time as any to finally get around to it, I suppose. Let's Get Lost Festival - Live At The Silk M ..Cleverly concealed behind red brick, on the banks of the River Derwent, is Derby’s Silk Mill. This venue is rich in heritage. It was once the first mill of its kind in Britain, but today sees it in a rather different incarnation. This urban space containing old industrial machinery and Rolls Royce aeroplane propellers has been transformed. Hidden away from passing trade, it houses the aptly named Let’s Get Lost festival by Holy Smokes. Human Don't Be Angry - Human Don't Be Angry ..With ten years spent as one half of Arab Strap plus five solo albums to his name, Malcolm Middleton has chosen to title his new, largely instrumental project after the German version of board game Frustration (‘Mensch ärgere Dich nicht’). It seems obvious that this is his attempt to shake off some of the negative connotations of the 'miserable singer-songwriter' tag that he has picked up over the years.
