2011 has been one hell of a year for us at IHEARTCOMIX. We went a lot of places, threw a lot of parties, and got very little sleep. From our abandoned mall takeover with Fool's Gold at SXSW to our Miani Mansion with Mad Decent to endless fun at Comic Con with Andrew WK & Dan Deacon to the first ever Check Yo Ponytail Tour , we've certainly set the ball high for 2012. While we have turned our focus to our shows and parties for the meantime, IHEARTCOMIX Records remains a very important element for all of us. We love all of our artists and wish them only the best for them both on the stage and in their personal lives. With that said, it is with great sadness to announce that Greg Bowler and Jamie McNiel will be performing their last show as Acid Girls tonight at Los Globos for our newest weekly, Champagne . Greg Bowler and Jamie McNiel have been DJing under the name Acid Girls for years now. Starting off as one of the first electro blogs pre-dating the great electro spring of early 2007, Acid Girls quickly turned their soft spoken wit and eclectic taste into well calibrated live mixes and sharp, progressive techno productions. Over the years, Acid Girls have DJed to packed rooms in sweaty dance clubs and darkened warehouses all over the world, but none more memorable than some of the smaller, intimate gatherings in their local LA zip code. While Greg and Jamie are closing out this chapter in their personal lives, the Acid Girls spirit lives on in the half remembered late night memories that we all try so hard to piece together the next day. Tonight, we invite you to join us in celebrating the holidays and giving thanks to these two extraordinary people. As mentioned before, Acid Girls will be performing for the last time together tonight at Los Globos. There will be free champagne from 10-11 and we will also be giving out copies of The Numbers Song / Lightworks . Come party with Acid Girls one last time and help send them off properly. Tickets will be available at the door. $5/21+ Now that the year is over, IHEARTCOMIX is on vacation for the holidays. Make no mistake mind you, we will be shaking things up pretty drastically this next year. In addition to the incredible Check Yo Ponytail lineups we've already announced , IHEARTCOMIX will be getting a cosmetic upgrade; a new website complete with some exciting features and content that we are excited to share with all of you. Franki Chan just updated his and it looks spectacular. With that said, expect a more refined and collective version of the IHEARTCOMIX you've all ...
IHEARTCOMIX!
