  • The apologetic nature of the vocal and the carefully crafted yet simplistic synth lines are what first drew me into this. Nothing is overstated nor overshadowed. There's a definite touch of early Hot Chip or Metronomy vibes throughout, which will always win me over. I'd maybe like to hear one or two extra additions in the beat, but I'm nit picking. Very nice track.
  • I don't usually go for remixes of tracks where I haven't heard the original, but I crossed this one and was instantly into it. Recently I've tried to stay away from the 80's beats influences, simply from over saturation, but this is not half bad. I'll be seeking out the original.
  • Although I'm new to We Are Hunted, I choose a lot of tracks on my other blogs based on the opening 30secs - if I like it, I'll keep on listening, from there the song has to do the business. However, this one from Church of Noise has caught me off guard a little. I've gone from mild impassive curiosity, to almost pure hatred, through to confusion. Eventually I come back to the opinion that sits in the middle. I just can't get on board with the outdated punk-esque murmerings layered over mediocre electronic instrumentation for the sole purpose of what seems like "fitting into a scene" but with a twist. However, if I hate it, the chances are other people will love it. That's why I've got it in my playlist.
  • While Lana Del Rey is gaining all the plaudits for reinventing the modern pop song, Blouse manage to capture a similar mystique around "Into Black". Although the lyrics aren't as instantly memorable, the vocal certainly has an effortless and minimalistic approach (along with the rest of the track), a production style which seems the juice of the day at the moment. It makes my mind wonder into a cinematic landscape of 'old western meets opium sex den', and any song that does that is fine by me.
